Immigration law can be complex, and every person’s circumstances are different. The answers below provide general information about HOPE Immigration’s services and common immigration questions. They are not legal advice and do not replace an individual consultation.
What is a fully accredited representative?
A fully accredited representative is an immigration legal representative authorized through the Department of Justice Recognition and Accreditation Program to provide immigration legal services through a recognized nonprofit organization. A fully accredited representative may advise and represent clients before the Department of Homeland Security, including USCIS, as well as Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
Does HOPE Immigration serve clients outside Colorado?
Yes. HOPE Immigration serves individuals and families nationwide. Consultations and many immigration matters can be handled through video meetings, telephone appointments, and secure electronic communication. In-person appointments are available in Colorado Springs by appointment only. Whether HOPE Immigration can accept a particular matter depends on the type of case, applicable deadlines, and current availability.
What happens during an immigration consultation?
During a consultation, we discuss your immigration history, current circumstances, concerns, goals, and any important deadlines. When appropriate, we may also review relevant immigration documents or government notices. We will discuss potential options, risks, and possible next steps based on the information provided. A consultation does not guarantee eligibility for an immigration benefit, a particular outcome, or acceptance of the matter for representation.
What should I have available for my consultation?
If available, have copies of your identification, passport, visa, I-94, employment authorization card, green card, immigration applications, USCIS notices, Immigration Court documents, and prior immigration decisions. You should also have information about previous entries and departures, important deadlines, and any arrests, citations, or court cases. Do not worry if you do not have every document; the consultation can help identify what may be needed. Please do not send original documents unless specifically requested.
What types of immigration matters does HOPE Immigration handle?
HOPE Immigration assists with a broad range of immigration matters before USCIS, Immigration Court, and the Board of Immigration Appeals. Services may include family petitions, adjustment of status, naturalization, humanitarian relief, employment authorization, waivers, detained and non-detained removal proceedings, bond matters, motions, and administrative appeals. This is not a complete list, and whether we can assist depends on the facts, deadlines, and procedural history of the individual matter.
How much do immigration services cost?
HOPE Immigration is a nonprofit organization committed to providing immigration legal services at an affordable cost. Service fees vary depending on the type and complexity of the matter and the assistance requested. Before representation begins, we will explain the proposed services and professional fees in writing. Government filing fees, translations, medical examinations, records requests, and other third-party expenses are separate unless expressly included. The current consultation fee is displayed on the consultation-booking page.
